Air operations in Nigeria will be suspended to stem the spread of the coronavirus, domestic airlines announced on Wednesday.
Air Peace, Dana Air, Arik Air, Aero Contractor and Azman Air have announced that the suspension of all air operations will begin on Friday.
The airlines said the suspension of flight services is necessary in order to support the initiatives and the precaution to ensure that there is no community infection in the country.
The suspension would last two weeks. After the two-week period, progress will be reviewed and a decision to resume operations will be made.
According to the airlines, customers can still use their tickets when operations resume.
