Armed attackers killed at least 14 villagers and wounded six others in central Kogi state, an official said Wednesday.
The assailants on motorcycles randomly opened fire in Agbudu village, State Police Commissioner Ede Ayuba said.
He said that security forces were sent to the region and have launched an extensive investigation.
The use of motorcycles has been banned in some states because armed attackers have recently used them in assaults.
Residents of many Nigerian communities always report that Fulani militias are responsible for the attacks that have left many dead.
