#EndSARS: Police Warn They Will Use Force To End New Protest In Lagos

Lagos State Police Command warned young Nigerians against staging another protest after protest against police brutality turned violent in the state and other parts of Nigeria.

Police said they would use force to resist any threat that could be triggered by the #EndSARS protest which they described as dangerous.

“the command,… wishes to warn any individuals, group of students or any groups who might want to stage any form of protest, either “peaceful” or violent, or gathering whatsoever, to desist as the police and other security agencies will collectively and tactically resist any security threats or threats to public peace which might be triggered by protest or protesters in Lagos State,” a statement by the police command on Thursday, said, citing that the demonstration could be hijacked “by armed hoodlums to cause grieve and pains”.

A protest against police brutality in Nigeria last month turned violent following the shooting of protesters by government forces, and reported armed “government-sponsored thugs” were being used against protesters.
